IT Specialist Full Time

Summary
The IT Specialist monitors and maintain the computer systems and networks of an organisation. General responsibility includes installation and configuration of computer systems, diagnose hardware and software faults and solve technical and applications problems, either over the phone or in person.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Analyze network data to determine network usage, disk space availability, or server function.
• Configure security settings or access permissions for groups or individuals.
• Configure wide area network (WAN) or local area network (LAN) routers or related equipment.
• Document network support activities.
• Configure and define parameters for installation or testing of local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), hubs, routers, switches, controllers, multiplexers, or related networking
• equipment.
• Evaluate local area network (LAN) or wide area network (WAN) performance data to ensure sufficient availability or speed, to identify network problems, or for disaster recovery purposes.
• Identify the causes of networking problems, using diagnostic testing software and equipment.
• Install and configure wireless networking equipment.
• Install network software, including security or firewall software.
• Other related duties may be assigned from time to time.

Basic Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or any computer-related course.
• Experience: at least 1 year experience as IT support for infrastructure and network configuration and support
• Experience in call center setting is an advantage
• Must be well-versed with IT policies and enforcement
