Go-Va provides clients based mostly in Australia with offshore employees. We are a managed operations company, not a BPO. You will work in the Go-Va office in Cebu and have direct contact daily with your client’s company, who will train you in their policies and procedures. Go-Va management on-site is there to support you and we provide you with many benefits.

Engineering at WorldRemit:

• Investment in technology is the #1 priority for WorldRemit’s investors, board and senior leadership team. Headed by our CTO Russ Thornton, the technology team currently stands at 100+ across London, Krakow, Denver and Cebu. The team will grow to circa 140 this year and could well double in size again beyond 2018.
• We have built our cloud-native distributed platform which is hosted in Azure and AWS. Our teams follow a Build It, Support It model ensuring we drive high standards of quality and resilience.
• Our chosen web technology stack is React, Redux and Node.js. Our native iOS app is built with Swift and Kotlin has been introduced for our Android version. Our service platform is predominately builtu sing C#/.NET and we use a host of data technologies including SQL Server, DocDB, RedShift, Kafka & Hive. We leverage Office 365 and a myriad of other SaaS tools to deliver end-user productivity.

What you’ll be working on:

• Based in Cebu, reporting to our global Head of Corporate IT based in London, you will lead the Corporate IT Engineering team for our Philippines office, initially supporting an end user base of 250 which is estimated to grow significantly in 2019.
• You will be leading the Cebu Infrastructure and Service Desk teams – providing local support but also support across other APAC satellite offices, as well as supporting global Corporate IT initiatives.
• Services include internal network and security systems, telephony, end user computing, local file and print – as well as the people, process, and systems to support these services – managing all aspects of the internal IT infrastructure.
• This is a great opportunity for an Engineering Leader to play a pivotal role in scaling a global FinTech organization in a vibrant, exciting, fast-growing business.

Your responsibilities:

• Provide technical and people leadership for a group of ~4 Corporate IT engineers in Cebu, growing to ~10 by the end of 2019; fostering a culture of collaboration across engineering and the broader organization.
• Input into and help deliver the Global Corporate IT strategy to deliver the WorldRemit 2020 a strategy which is to serve 10 million customers connected to emerging markets.
• Ensure the Cebu Corporate IT operating model is fit for purpose within the global model, to deliver the growth efficiently and effectively.
• Manage all Capx and Opex budget items relating to the services provided in Cebu.
• A key member of the Corporate IT Leadership Team, you will help drive our engineering maturity, scale the team and contribute to our overall technology strategy.
• Hold your own in technical discussions, be a subject matter expert and have strategic influence.
• Work closely with key stakeholders, especially the global Corporate IT leaders, the Cloud Service Reliability Engineering (CSRE), Security and Strategic Projects teams.
• Hire and retain top engineering talent, fostering a high-performance culture in teams and individuals.
• Strong supplier relationship manager and service manager for Corporate IT provided services. Able to develop and mature strategic partner relationships and seek efficiency and value.
• Provide leadership and point of escalation for Corporate IT Infrastructure change in Cebu as well as transformation initiatives, sometimes working closely with 3rd party IT service providers.
• Manage risk and compliance requirements associated with all Corporate IT provided systems and services in Cebu.

What we are looking for:

• Experience of working within a high-volume, 24×7, global e-commerce business, preferably as part of a rapidly growing organization.
• Track record of setting the highest level of engineering standards: architecture, processes, and working practices, working in a multi-location engineering organization
• Deep technical knowledge including modern engineering technologies and practices. Significant experience in high scale Corporate IT environments.
• Demonstrated success in recruiting and retaining top engineering talent; a modern leader who is passionate about developing the team.
• People manager with the necessary gravitas to effectively lead. Track record of building capability through developing people; deep understanding of how to optimize team performance for growth.
• A strong, collaborative communicator who can have a positive impact across engineering and the broader business. Balances the needs of the businesses, the team and our customers.
• Innovative mindset – will have informed views on the latest technologies and the most effective ways of trialing and deploying them.
• Cultural fit – We are known for our low ego, non-hierarchical and collaborative culture.
• A degree is required and a related subject preferable.
